incroyable, émouvant et une histoire vraie, très bien racontée
7,5 : Tension dramatique très bien menée du début à la fin, le fait que ce soit une histoire vraie rend le tout encore plus suffocant.

Deepwater Horizon confirme que Peter Berg sait mettre en scène l’action avec une efficacité redoutable, mais aussi qu’il sait magnifier Mark Wahlberg. Le film sur-dramatise un événement réel déjà tragique et ça fonctionne pleinement : c’est un thriller haletant, nerveux, spectaculaire et très immersif. La reconstitution de la plateforme est impressionnante, on ressent le danger permanent, la pression, le risque constant auquel sont exposés ces travailleurs. Wahlberg est particulièrement bon, sans doute parce qu’on l’éloigne de son registre habituel de dur à cuire pour lui offrir un personnage plus humain, émotionnellement impliqué, avec une vraie profondeur. Le film rend un hommage appuyé et respectueux aux victimes de la catastrophe, tout en pointant clairement l’avidité aveugle de l’industrie pétrolière et ses conséquences désastreuses, humaines comme environnementales. Une œuvre efficace, engagée et sincère dans son intention.
