🎬 Le film de Simon Stone nous entraine dans une histoire de lutte contre le temps, de patience et de passion. En 1939, une veuve engage un archéologue amateur, Basil Brown pour fouiller des tertres dans sa grande propriété. Il met au jour un bateau anglo-saxon du 7ème siècle, d'une grande valeur historique, qui deviendra le trésor de Sutton Hoo. Evidemment, le British Muséum veut prendre le relais et congédie l'archéologue amateur. Une interprétation magistrale et toute en finesse de Ralph Fiennes et Cary Mulligan. Dans un somptueux décor de l'Angleterre rurale d'avant-guerre, on n'y déterre pas seulement les trésors enfouis mais également les sentiments oubliés entre les principaux personnages.
