Summary
A work of fantasy, I Who Have Never Known Men is the haunting and unforgettable account of a near future on a barren earth where women are kept in underground cages guarded by uniformed groups of men. It is narrated by the youngest of the women, the only one with no memory of what the world was like before the cages, who must teach herself, without books or sexual contact, the essential human emotions of longing, loving, learning, companionship, and dying. 1 reviewsBelle réflexion sur l’Humanité, sur ce qui fait de nous des êtres humains, et sur ce dont les humains ont besoin -> nourriture etc ne font l’existence (mort svt par désespoir etc). Ce qui fait la vie, c’est l’impression d’avoir pu comprendre son existence, d’avoir pu lui donner un sens. Et le sens prend vie dans la communauté humaine : quand celle-ci n’a pas lieu, ne donne rien.
