Synopsis
The rebellious Thracian Spartacus, born and raised a slave, is sold to Gladiator trainer Batiatus. After weeks of being trained to kill for the arena, Spartacus turns on his owners and leads the other slaves in rebellion. As the rebels move from town to town, their numbers swell as escaped slaves join their ranks. Under the leadership of Spartacus, they make their way to southern Italy, where they will cross the sea and return to their homes.

Kirk Douglas et Kubrick encore ensemble ! Et là c'est un hit! Superbe film qui retranscrit bien l'histoire de Spartacus.
🎬 Un casting impressionnant Kirk Douglas, Tony Curtis, Jean Simmons, Peter Ustinov, Laurence Olivier, Charles Laughton... Stanley Kubrick est un génie du septième art, et avant tout un photographe légendaire. Un pur chef d'oeuvre avec Kirk Douglas dans le rôle de l'esclave devenu gladiateur. Kubrick arrive sur le tournage alors que celui-ci a déjà commencé, il remplace Anthony Mann, renvoyé au bout de 15 jours pour mésentente avec Douglas. Sans ce film, peut-être que Barry Lyndon ou Shining n’auraient pas le même visage. Un film qui se découvre encore avec grand plaisir. 🎬 🎬 🎬
